Delete and restore workflows

Last updated: September 3, 2025

Available with any of the following subscriptions, except where noted:

Delete and restore previously deleted workflows from the workflows tool. You can delete workflows individually or in bulk. When selecting workflows to delete, you can review unused workflows.

Before you get started

  • Any deleted workflows can be restored within 90 days of being deleted. After 90 days, the workflow will be permanently deleted and you will not be able to restore the workflow.
  • To delete a workflow, you must have Super Admin or workflow Delete permissions
  • If the workflow is currently used in another active process or automation, the option to delete the workflow will be greyed out. You'll need to review and remove the workflow's connections before deleting.
  • If the workflow was created from another tool, such as simple workflows from the forms, email, or ads tools, the option to delete will be greyed out. You'll need to delete the workflow directly in the corresponding editor instead.

Delete individual workflows

To delete an individual workflow:

  1. In your HubSpot account, navigate to Automation > Workflows.
  2. On the workflows page, hover over the workflow. Then, click Actions and select Delete.
  3. In the dialog box, click Delete workflow.
The workflow will be deleted and will appear greyed out in your workflows dashboard until you refresh the page.

Restore workflows

From the workflows dashboard, you can restore workflows that have been deleted in the past 90 days. If it has been more than 90 days, the workflow will be permanently deleted and you will not be able to restore the workflow.

When you restore a deleted workflow, HubSpot recreates the workflow as a new, inactive workflow.

Please note: restoring a workflow will not restore any workflow history or data, including any past versions of the workflow. You can only restore the workflow as it was when deleted.

To restore a deleted workflow:

  1. In your HubSpot account, navigate to Automation > Workflows.
  2. At the top, click the Deleted tab. If the Deleted tab isn't appearing, it may have been removed from your default views. To restore the Deleted tab:
    • Click + Add view.
    •  In the HubSpot provided section, select Deleted
  1. Hover over the workflow that you want to restore, then click Clone. In the dialog box, click Clone
    • The restored workflow will be added to your dashboard.
    • Restored workflows will maintain their original name along with an indicator that the workflow was restored, such as Workflow name (Restored 8/26/2019).
