Last updated: March 2, 2017

Available For:

Marketing: Basic, Pro, Enterprise
Sales: N/A

The design manager has the following default folder structure:

  • Template layouts
    • Custom
      • Blog
      • Email
      • Page
      • System
    • Global Groups
    • HubSpot Default
  • Coded files
    • HubSpot Default
    • Custom

To create a new folder:

  • Navigate to Content > Design Manager in your HubSpot Marketing account.
  • Click the blue New template button at the top-right. (If you don't see this button, click the +Tab button at the top and then you will see the New template button.)
  • Choose what type of template you want to create and for what type of content (this is important because your folder will be placed within this respective hierarchy), then click Create.
  • From this window, click New Folder, name your folder, and push Enter/Return on your keyboard to save.

To delete a folder:

To delete a folder, you must move or delete all templates from within the folder. Once a folder is empty, it will be automatically deleted.

To rename a folder:

At this time, it is not possible to rename folders once created.

To move or rename a template or coded file:

  • Navigate to Content > Design Manager in your HubSpot Marketing account.
  • Locate and click on the name of the template layout or coded file that you would like to move.
  • Click Actions > Move or rename template > give the template a new name and/or select your new destination folder > click Move/Rename/Move and rename.

While a template layout may be placed into a folder within a folder within a folder, coded templates may only be placed into a single folder depth. In other words, coded templates cannot be placed into a folder within a folder. You will not see the New Folder option beyond the first folder a coded template is placed into.

It is also only possible to move templates or coded files within the available folders for that type. For example, it is not possible to move a blog template into an email template folder.

To delete a template or coded file:

  • Navigate to Content > Design Manager in your HubSpot Marketing account.
  • Locate and click on the name of the template layout or coded file that you would like to delete.
  • Click Actions in the upper-left corner and then Delete.

  • On the next screen, click OK to confirm
