To create a web page version of your email, you don't need to create an additional page. Instead, when the web page version option is enabled in your email draft's settings, a new web page is automatically generated using the contents of your email. You'll then need to specify basic details for the web page such as a page URL, meta description, and page title.

To create a web page version of your email with the web page option:

  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to Content > Email.
  • Hover over one of your emails and click Edit.
  • In the email editor, click the Settings tab at the top.
  • Toggle the Enable web version switch on.

  • Enter the details of your web version: page title, page URL, meta description, and the expiration date. The expiration date is optional. With this selected, you'll have the option to redirect the web-based email to a landing page at a scheduled date and time. For example, if you have a 24-hour offer, you can choose your homepage as the page to redirect to 24 hours after your email is scheduled to go out.
  • To make more substantial edits to the template, click Edit web version contents

You'll also have the option to update the page status of the web version email after it has been sent.

The email's web page version URL will not function in a draft email. Instead, it will lead to a live page after your email is sent.

If the Enable web version setting is not available under the Settings tab:

  • In the email editor, click the Settings tab.
  • Click Advanced Settings to expand the template information. Hover over the template thumbnail and click Edit template.
Make sure the View As Web Page module is present on the Template (typically located at the top of template).
  • In the template, click the gear icon to the right of the View as webpage module and select Edit Options.
  • Check that the token is present in the source code.

The code will look something like this:

{%if content.create_page%} <div style="padding-top: 15px; font-family: Geneva, Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; text-align: right; font-size: 9px; line-height: 1.34em; color: {{secondary_font_color}};">Not rendering correctly? View this email as a web page <a href="{{view_as_page_url}}" target="_blank" data-viewaswebpage="true" style="color: {{secondary_font_color}}; text-decoration: underline; white-space: nowrap">here</a>.</div> {%endif%}

Custom coded templates must contain either the {{view_as_page_section}} or the {{view_as_page_url}} token.
