Track Google Ads in HubSpot without the ads tool

HubSpot CRM Free, Marketing Hub Starter and Basic accounts can use UTM parameters or tracking URLs to track Google Ads in HubSpot without the ads tool.

Please note: if you have a Marketing Hub Professional or Enterprise account, learn how to connect your Google Ads account to HubSpot and analyze your ad campaigns.

Specify the name of your Google ad in a utm_campaign parameter added to your page URLAlternatively, you can create and use a tracking URL as the final URL for your Google ad:

  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to Reports > Analytics Tools.
  • Click Tracking URL Builder.
  • In the upper right, click Create tracking URL.
  • In the right pane, set the following tracking URL parameters:
    • URL: URL of your page.
    • UTM campaign: select an existing HubSpot campaign that corresponds to the Google ad campaign or create a new HubSpot campaign for your ad.
    • UTM source: Paid search.
  • Click Create.

This will bucket visits to the Google ad's destination URL under Paid search and display the Google ad or HubSpot campaign name in the sources report.
