Add videos to chat, one-to-one emails, templates, and sequence emails

Record and send videos in chat conversations, one-to-one emails, sales email templates, or when enrolling contacts in sequence. Each video can be up to one hour in length.

Please note: these video features are independent of the Vidyard for HubSpot integration, which is a separate paid feature for Vidyard customers.

Add videos to chat conversations and bot actions

You can record and send videos to your chat visitors directly from the conversations inbox. To add a video to a chat message:

  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to Conversations > Inbox.
  • In the left sidebar, click a chat conversation. 
  • At the bottom of the conversation, in the reply editor, click Insert, then select Video.

You can also add videos to the following bot actionsSend simple message, Ask a question, and Offer email subscription. The bot will share the video with the visitor when they reach this step while chatting with the bot.

  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to Conversations > Chatflows.
  • Hover over the bot you want to modify and click Edit, or click Create chatflow to build a new bot.
  • Click the plus icon + to add a new action to your bot or select an existing action to edit.
  • To add a video as an attachment to the chat message, at the bottom of the message box, click the attach attach icon. Select Upload to insert a new video file or select Choose existing file to add a video from your HubSpot file manager.
  • To add a video to play directly in the chat widget, at the bottom of the message box, click the insertVideo video icon (Sales Hub or Service Hub Professional and Enterprise only).

Add videos to one-to-one emails, templates, and sequence emails (Sales Hub or Service Hub Professional and Enterprise only)

Please note: only users with assigned Sales Hub or Service Hub paid seats can record or add videos to emails.

  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to your contacts, companies, deals, or tickets
  • Click the name of an object record.
  • In the left panel, click the Email icon email .
  • If you're inserting the video into a template or sequence, first click Templates or Sequences. Then click the Insert dropdown menu and select Video

Record or add existing videos

If this is your first time adding video, you'll be prompted to authorize the Vidyard GoVideo application and create a personal account. To confirm your account, click Verify in the follow-up email from Vidyard. 

Once your account is ready and you're signed in to Vidyard, you can create personalized video recordings within HubSpot.

  • In the dialog box, click New Video and select from the following:

    • Camera Recording: create a video using the camera and microphone connected to your computer.
      • Use the dropdown menus to select the camera and microphone for your video. Select Mic off to disable sound entirely.

      • Click Start Recording. You can pause or restart the video at any time during the recording process.
      • When you're done recording your video, click Stop.
      • To add the video to your email, click Insert.
    • Screen Recording: create a video of your computer screen, along with the camera and microphone connected to your computer.

      Please note: if using Google Chrome, you’ll be prompted to download the Vidyard GoVideo Google Chrome extension before you can create this type of video. If the GoVideo extension is not showing on your browser, refer to Vidyard's documentation for support.

      • Use the dropdown menus to select the camera and microphone used for your recording. In the camera dropdown menu, select a camera to include a video alongside your screen recording or select No Camera to record only your computer screen.

      • Click Start Recording.
      • Select a screen to share for your recording, then click Share.

      • A banner will appear to indicate the screen is being recorded (it will not appear in your recording). Click Hide to remove this banner from view, or click Stop sharing to immediately stop the recording.
      • In the lower-right corner of the screen, use the controls to pause, stop, or restart your recording.

      • After the screen recording is finished, click the stop icon.
      • To add the video to your email, click Insert.
    • Upload Video: select this option to upload an existing video file from your device.
      • Select a file from your device and click Open.
      • To add the video to your email, click Insert.
  • To insert an existing video into your sales email, select the checkbox to the left of the video, then click Insert.

  • To delete an existing video, click the name of the video recording and click the trash icon delete.

Please note: if your video isn't saved after you finish recording, you can recover it following Vidyard's support documentation.
