Use double opt-in for marketing emails in multiple languages (BETA)

Double opt-in offers an extra confirmation step to verify each email address added to your contact database. When this setting is turned on, contacts who are created through forms will automatically receive a follow-up email with a link to confirm their email subscription. Learn more about setting up double opt-in.
You can set up your double opt-in confirmation email, confirmation page, and follow-up email in multiple languages.
The language of the form the contact was created through determines the language of their double opt-in communications. Any contacts created from forms with languages that don't match options in your double opt-in settings will be sent communications in the default double opt-in language.
Create language options for double opt-in
- In your HubSpot account, click the settings settings icon in the top navigation bar.
- In the left sidebar menu, navigate to Marketing > Email.
- Click the Double opt-in tab.
- In the Manage double opt-in emails and pages section, click Add language.
- In the right panel, click the Select double opt-in language dropdown menu and select a language.
- Click Save and continue.
- In the Email subject line field, enter the subject line of your confirmation email in this language, then click Generate default email. The email will be generated in the language you selected.
- Click Publish and continue.
- In the Select page to use as confirmation page section, select an option for the page contacts will see after clicking Confirm in your confirmation email:
- Default confirmation page: contacts will see the default subscriptions update system page for your account.
- My own page: click the dropdown menu and select a different page in your account.
- Click Save and exit.
Set a language as active for double opt-in
Once you've set up your language options for double opt-in, you can set them as active or inactive individually. While double opt-in is turned on, the default language can't be set to inactive.
- In your HubSpot account, click the settings settings icon in the top navigation bar.
- In the left sidebar menu, navigate to Marketing > Email.
- Click the Double opt-in tab.
- In the Manage double opt-in emails and pages section, hover over a language and click the Actions dropdown menu, then select Set as active.
- In the dialog box, click Confirm.
Once you've set a language as active, you can select it as your default language in the Actions dropdown menu by selecting Set as default language.
