Most of your templates that set the foundations of your site pages consist of rich text modules. Rich text modules store the heart of your content, such as the bulk of your text and sometimes even images.

When creating smart text, keep in mind the best practices of smart content. Start small and pick only one area of text to personalize to your visitors.

How can this help you?

Sometimes personalizing your content doesn’t just have to be about including a name to address your visitor; it can be about changing a whole piece of content for your visitor. Based on information you’ve gathered from your contact before, you could give them more information on something you know they showed previous interest in to save them time from trying to dig around your website to find it.

Below are some helpful links to get you started:

Create smart text on your HubSpot page

In your HubSpot account, navigate to Content > Website Pages or Landing Pages. Hover over an existing page and click Edit or create a new page by clicking Create new (website/landing) page in the upper right-hand corner.

Make a module smart

Once you’re in your HubSpot page, make one of your rich text modules smart. Before making this rich text module smart, make sure the content that already lives there (your default content) is optimized for search engines as well as any other visitor you’re not targeting.

When you’re happy with the default content in your rich text module, click the smart icon to set up smart content within the module.
