Use records created in a workflow, later in the same workflow. For example, in a company-based workflow, you create a new contact record. Within that same workflow, you can add actions to set the marketing contact status of that contact and use the properties from it when creating a task or a note for your team.
- In your HubSpot account, navigate to Automation > Workflows.
- Click the name of an existing workflow, or create a new workflow.
- Add a Create record or a Create task action to create a new record in your workflow.
- In the workflow editor, click the + add icon.
- In the left panel, select your action. Learn more about the different workflow actions available.
- To take action on the newly created record, you can click the [object-type] dropdown menu and select The created object. This may not be available on all actions.
- To use properties from the newly created record:
- After selecting your action, in the left panel, click on the field that you'd like to use the data with.
- In the Action data section, click Create record.
- In the The created object section, you can select properties from your newly created record. Learn more about adding data variables in workflows.
- Continue setting up your workflow action.
- At the top, click Save.
