The image for a contact's profile picture is determined by the following options, in order:
- First we look at the contact's Twitter handle to see if it matches a handle in another portal with a photo. If another contact in another portal with the same Twitter handle has a profile picture, this picture will be applied to the new contact
- If another contact cannot be found with the same Twitter handle, or if no Twitter handle is provided, we look at another source. This next source is a company called FullContact. They scrape social networks to try and look for images associated with the users social properties. This extends beyond just their Twitter handle and the Twitter network.
- If no image is found by either of the above criteria, we use the image we have associated with their email domain. In most cases this will be their company logo.
The profile picture is gathered and applied automatically, but you can change it on a contact-by-contact basis by following the steps in this article.
Please note: pictures will not be displayed for contacts that have been imported in the HubSpot CRM without email addresses.
