Why am I not seeing any open or click notifications with HubSpot Sales?

The HubSpot Sales tool uses Google Chrome or the HubSpot Sales for Windows tray app to send you real-time notifications when a tracked email is opened or clicked by an email recipient. 

Please note that click tracking is only available for Sales Professional users. Open tracking is available for Sales Free and Sales Professional users. Learn how to upgrade to receive click notifications here.

If you are no longer receiving open or click notifications with Google Chrome or the HubSpot Sales for Windows tray app, but should be, there are a few common scenarios for why this might be happening:

Google Chrome

Google Chrome isn't open:

  • Google Chrome must be running on your computer with the HubSpot Sales plugin enabled in order to get the real time notifications.

Notifications are not turned on:

  • With Google Chrome open and running and the HubSpot Sales extension enabled - you also want to make sure the button next to Notifications is set to ON.

You may be signed into the wrong account:

  • If using both Google Chrome and Outlook, it's possible you could be signed into one account in Google Chrome and a different account in Outlook. Make sure you're signed into the correct account in both platforms.

HubSpot Sales for Windows tray app

Google Chrome is open:

  • If Google Chrome is open and the HubSpot Sales extension is installed and active, the HubSpot Sales for Windows app will not send notifications. Instead, you will receive notifications in Chrome.

You may be signed into the wrong account:

  • Make sure that you are logged into the correct account in the HubSpot Sales for Windows app. Right click on the app within your tray to log out and log back in.
