How do I use progressive profiling with HubSpot forms?

Last updated: December 13, 2016

Progressive profiling replaces questions you have already asked a visitor with new questions in the order you decide. This increases conversion rates by keeping forms short, but also allows you to learn more about your visitors over time (as they return to your website and answer different questions every time). Please note: progressive profiling is only available to Professional and Enterprise subscriptions.

  • Navigate to Contacts > Form
  • Click on the name of the form that you want to edit
  • Make a field "smart" by clicking on the icon with two squares and two arrows

  • Add fields to the Queued questions section of the form editor to replace smart fields once they have a known value

Once you save your form, the properties in the queued questions section will now replace known smart fields on your live form. So, for example, if your contact has already told you their company's name, the form will now ask for their annual revenue (instead of asking for company name again).
