Edit a simple menu module

A simple menu module displays a basic navigation menu on pages of your site. Use this module for local navigation sections or small site menus. For main site navigation across many pages, an advanced menu module is recommended.
Before you get started
Before editing a simple menu module, make sure to fully understand the steps that should be taken ahead of time, as well as the limitations of the feature and potential consequences of using it.
Permissions required The following permissions are required:
- Design tools permission is required to edit and publish templates in the design manager.
- Edit and publish permission is required to edit and publish pages.
Understand limitations & considerations
- Any changes made to the simple menu module in the content editor will override edits on the template level. If you don't want the simple menu to be editable in the content editor, you'll need to lock the module in the template.
Edit a simple menu module in a template
- In your HubSpot account, navigate to Content > Design Manager.
- In the finder, click the template name to edit.
- In the layout editor, click the Simple Menu module.
- In the inspector, click Edit Menu in the Default content section.

- In the layout editor, click Add menu item to open the menu editor.
- Enter the text that'll appear on the menu item in the Menu item label field.
- To link to a HubSpot-hosted page, click the Select page dropdown menu and select a page.
- To change the link type, click the Actions dropdown menu and select an option:
- Item without link: the menu item won't include a URL link.
- Page link with URL parameter: the menu item will direct visitors to a HubSpot-hosted page with a URL parameter.
- URL link: the menu item will direct visitors to an external URL link.

- To add more menu items, click + Add menu item below the first item, then select the link type.
- To add a child menu item, click the Actions dropdown menu next to the existing menu item and select Add child item below.
- To change the position of menu items, click a menu item and drag it into a new position.
- To delete menu items, click the delete delete icon next to the menu item.
- To change the orientation of the menu, select Horizontal or Vertical in the Menu orientation field.
- When finished, click Publish changes on the top right.
Edit a simple menu module in the content editor

Navigate to your content:
- Website Pages: In your HubSpot account, navigate to Content > Website Pages.
- Landing Pages: In your HubSpot account, navigate to Content > Landing Pages.
- Click the name of a page.
- In the content editor, click the simple menu module. To add a simple menu module, click the add Add icon in the top left sidebar.
- In the sidebar editor, click Create menu or Edit menu.
- In the Menu orientation section, select Horizontal or Vertical.

- In the content editor, click Add menu item to open the menu editor.
- Enter the text that'll appear on the menu item in the Menu item label field.
- To link to a HubSpot-hosted page, click the Select page dropdown menu and select a page.
- To change the link type, click the Actions dropdown menu and select an option:
