BetaManage access to apps
Last updated: April 10, 2026
Available with any of the following subscriptions, except where noted:
To give your team access to apps from the HubSpot Marketplace, manage which apps can be installed and select what data those apps can access. Super Admins can review, approve, and manage apps from a centralized location. This helps maintain visibility into which apps are connected, who can install them, and what data is shared.
As an admin, you can manage apps in your HubSpot account in four ways:
-
Approve apps: review and approve which apps can be installed in your HubSpot account.
-
Limit installation: control which users can install each app.
-
Customize optional data permissions: allow or restrict optional permissions for each approved app.
-
Revoke approval: remove access to apps that were previously approved.
Before you get started
Before you begin working with this feature, please note the following:
Permissions required You must be a Super Admin to approve apps, manage install permissions, or update data permissions.
- Some HubSpot-built integrations aren’t supported by this feature, including data sync integrations, inbox integrations (e.g., Gmail and Outlook), and other HubSpot-developed apps.
-
Users must request access to apps that haven’t been approved yet.
-
Required data permissions for apps cannot be modified or turned off.
-
Revoking approval for an app will uninstall it for all users who have previously installed it. You can also uninstall the app for specific users instead.
-
Uninstall actions can take up to 30 minutes to take effect.
Review and approve apps
If a non-admin user attempts to install an unapproved app from the HubSpot Marketplace, they can submit a request in HubSpot for an admin to review and approve the app.
Super Admins will receive the approval requests as user notifications in HubSpot, where they can review and approve each request.
To pre-approve an app for your team or to approve an app your team has requested:
- In your HubSpot account, click the settings settings icon in the top navigation bar.
- In the left sidebar menu, navigate to Integrations > Connected Apps.
- Click the Approved apps tab.
- Click Approve apps.
- Search for and select the app you want to approve.
- In the Manage access banner, click Approve.
- In the dialog box, select who can install the app:
-
-
Admins: this includes Super Admins and users with App Marketplace Access permissions. In the Default users section, view the users who will be included.
- Specific users: in addition to Super Admins and users with App Marketplace Access permissions, select additional users to grant access to the app. Next to the user’s name, toggle the switch on.
- Everyone: this includes all users in your HubSpot account.
-
- Click Next: Review data permissions.
- Review the permissions, data, and APIs that the app can access. The permissions selected on this page will apply to all users, including admins and authorized installers.
-
- Required: view the required permissions the app needs. These permissions can’t be turned off.
- Optional: next to the permission name, toggle the switch on to grant the optional permission to the app. Or click Enable all to grant all optional permissions.
- Click Approve app.
Once approved, the app will appear in the Approved apps table.
