Data test your records for enrichment

Before you enrich your contact and company records, you can conduct a data test to check the percentage of records that are eligible for enrichment as well as the types of data available for those records. You can conduct a data test from areas such as the data enrichment tool, a company index page, or a segment.
Before you get started
Before enrichment, it is recommended to test records within your CRM to get an estimate of the data coverage. When doing your data test:
- All users can test records for enrichment data. However, in order to run enrichment you must have a paid subscription and Super Admin or Data enrichment access permissions.
- It is recommended to test existing records where you know the domain and key information are already accurate, such as companies that you work with regularly.
- Records with personal email addresses cannot be enriched and will not be included in the output of the data test. This includes records with email addresses from any free email services like Gmail or Yahoo, or any temporary email address provider.
- Any record that’s submitted for the test must have a valid domain or email address to have enrichment data. If the record doesn’t have a valid domain or email, it will be excluded from the data test.
Data test your records
Please note: the number of companies eligible for enrichment may not match the number of domains available for data enrichment due to factors such as geographical location.
Data test from the data enrichment tool
You can use the data enrichment tool to data test all of your contacts and companies at once. The time to complete the scan varies depending on the number of records in your account.
- In your HubSpot account, navigate to Data Management > Data Enrichment.
- Click Scan for enrichment gaps.
- After the scan completes, review the Enrichment Coverage section for the following results:
- Match rate: the percentage of records that are eligible for enrichment.
- Enrichment possibilities by property: the per property enrichment coverage displayed as a percentage. Click Contacts or Companies to view properties per object.

Data test from an index page
- Navigate to your contacts or companies:
- In your HubSpot account, navigate to CRM > Contacts.
- In your HubSpot account, navigate to CRM > Companies.
- In the table, click the checkboxes next to the records that you'd like to enrich.
- To select all records in a list, select the top left checkbox.
- At the top of the table, click Check enrichment coverage. You can check up to 100 records at a time.
- In the right panel, at the top, review the enrichment match rate. This is the percentage of records that are eligible for enrichment.
- [Object] Eligible: these are records with valid, formatted domains with data available for enrichment
- [Object] ineligible: these are records where the domain may not be properly formatted, invalid, or unresolved. For example, if the record’s domain has been input as hubspot..com instead of hubspot.com.
- Below the match rate, review the different properties available for enrichment. Under each property, review the percentage of records that will be enriched with property values.
- When you're finished you can either:
- Click Enrich records to enrich the selected records.
- Click the X to exit the data test.
Data test from a segment
- In your HubSpot account, navigate to CRM > Segments.
- Click the name of an existing segment, or create a new segment.
- In the table, click the checkboxes next to the records that you'd like to test.
- Select the top left checkbox to select all records in a list.
- At the top of the table, click Check enrichment coverage. You can check up to 100 records at a time.
- In the right panel, at the top, review the enrichment match rate. This is the percentage of records that are eligible for enrichment.
