Create and publish Facebook posts or stories

Use HubSpot's social composer to publish Facebook posts or stories directly from your HubSpot account.

Before you publish Facebook posts or stories, review the requirements and key considerations. 

Requirements 

Limitations and considerations

  • Facebook stories are not available when creating and publishing social posts using the HubSpot mobile app
  • Once published, Facebook stories cannot be deleted through HubSpot. They must be deleted directly through Facebook.
  • When reviewing your published Facebook story analytics, only interactions are supported. Remaining metrics, such as shares or impressions, are not available.
  • Facebook story interaction data may take up to one hour to populate in your HubSpot account.
  • Facebook stories expire 24 hours after being published. Once a story expires, analytics are no longer collected.

Create a Facebook post or story

  1. In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Social.

  2. In the upper right, click Create social posts.
  3. In the left panel, click the Select accounts dropdown menu. Then, select the checkboxes next to the Facebook accounts you want to post to.
    • If you’ve set a default Facebook account, the account will automatically be selected.
    • To select all connected Facebook accounts, click the Facebook checkbox. 
  4. Set up your social post draft. The details of the draft post will be duplicated across all social accounts selected for the post. 
  5. In the upper left, click the socialBlockFacebook Facebook icon.
  6. In the Content Type section, select Post or Story
    • Post: create a post for your Facebook feed. This is the default content type when creating a post with images or video. 
      • Write caption: in the text box, add or edit the post's caption.
      • Upload media: under Upload Media section, click Select image or Select video to add images or a video to your social post. 
    • Story: create an image or short video post that lasts for 24 hours after publishing. 

  1. Click to expand the Schedule post section, then select your publishing option:
    • Publish now: publish the post immediately. 
    • Schedule for later: select a specific date and time to publish the post. Or click to expand Your saved times and select a time from your social publishing schedule
  2. Click to expand the Add to campaign section:
    • Click the Select a campaign dropdown menu and select a campaign.
  3. Click to expand the More options section and configure your Facebook post details:
    • Facebook first comment (Facebook post only): add a first comment to your post.
    • Choose who can see your post (Facebook post only): choose whether to display your post to all Facebook users or specify an audience for your post.  
      • Public audience: the post will be displayed to everyone who can view your account or page.
      • Custom audience: the post will be displayed only to the specified audience.
        • Location: click the location dropdown menu and select a country. The post will display to visitors from these locations. You can select a maximum of five locations.
        • Language: click the language dropdown menu and select a language. The post will display to visitors who use these languages. You can select a maximum of five languages. If you don't need a specified language, this option can also be left blank.
  4. In the top right, click Review & Publish or Review & Schedule. Alternatively, continue editing posts for other social networks
