Organize lists

To organize your lists and make them easier to find, you can use folders and custom list properties. On the lists index page, you can arrange individual lists into folders and use filters and saved views to segment by your custom properties.

Create and use folders

To create list folders:
  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to CRM > Lists.
  • In the upper right, click the Folders tab.

  • Click Create folder.
  • In the dialog box, enter a Folder name, then click Create.

To move lists into a folder:

  • Return to the main lists index page by clicking the All lists tab.
  • To move multiple lists into a folder, select the checkbox next to any lists that you want to move, then click Move to folder at the top of the table. Then, in the dialog box, select a folder, then click Move.

  • To add a single list into a folder, hover over a list, click the More dropdown menu, then select Move to folder.
  • To add a list to a folder from the list editor, click the name of a list, then in the upper right, click Actions and select Move to folder.

Create and use list properties

Create custom list properties to filter your lists by property value and create views.

To create a custom list property:

Once created, you can add the custom property to the list create form and the list details sidebar:

  • In your HubSpot account, click the settings settings icon in the top navigation bar.
  • In the left sidebar menu, navigate to ObjectsLists.
  • Click Custom the 'Create list' form.
  • In the left sidebar of the list form editor, click Add properties.
  • Select the checkbox next to the custom property, then click Save in the upper right.

With the property added to the list create form, you can now access the property in the Custom properties section when creating a list.

You can then also update custom properties for existing lists from the lists index page:

  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to CRM > Lists.
  • Hover over a list, then clic Details.
  • In the right panel, in the Custom properties section, view or update the custom property.

In addition, you can use custom properties when viewing and filtering your lists on the lists index page.
