Organize segments into folders

To organize your segments and make them easier to find, you can use segment folders. On the segments index page, you can create or manage folders and move segments into the folders you've created.

Segment folders are useful for manually grouping segments. If you want to automatically filter segments based on segment property values, you may want to create a filtered segment view instead.

Create a segment folder

1. In your HubSpot account, navigate to CRM > Segments.
2. In the upper right, click the Folders tab.
3. Click Create folder. 
   
   
4. In the dialog box, enter a folder name, then click Create.

View and manage segment folders

To access and manage your segment folders:

1. In your HubSpot account, navigate to CRM > Segments.
2. In the upper right, click the Folders tab.
3. To view the segments in a folder, click the folder's name.
4. To move a folder to be stored within another folder, hover over the folder, click Actions, then select Move folder. Select the folder to move the folder into, then click Move.
5. To change the name of a folder, hover over the folder, click Actions, then select Rename folder. Enter a new name for the folder, then click Rename.
6. To delete a folder, hover over the folder, click Actions, then select Delete folder. Click Delete folder to confirm. Deleting a segment folder will not delete the segments or other folders within the folder.

Add segments to a folder

To move segments into a folder:

1. In your HubSpot account, navigate to CRM > Segments.
2. Select the checkboxes next to segments you want to move, then click Move to folder at the top of the table. 
3. In the dialog box, select a folder, then click Move. Segments can only be added to one folder at a time, but may be included in multiple folders if a folder is stored within another folder.

Remove segments from a folder

To remove a segment from a folder, you'll need to move the segment out of a folder to the All segments view.

1. In your HubSpot account, navigate to CRM > Segments.
2. In the upper right, click the Folders tab.
3. Click the folder's name.
4. Select the checkboxes next to the segments you want to move, then click Move to folder at the top of the table. 
5. In the dialog box, select All segments, then click Save. The segment will now be removed from any folders.
