Change content URLs

Change the URL of any published page, blog post, or knowledge base article. Once the content is published or updated, this will automatically create a redirect from the old URL to the new URL.

Before you get started

Before you begin editing the URL of any published content, make sure to fully understand what steps should be taken ahead of time, as well as the limitations of the feature and potential consequences of using it.

Understand limitations & considerations

• Changing the URL of a page, post, or article will reset its view data in your analytics and affect the page’s search rankings. Learn more about how URL changes can impact SEO.
• If the URL you're trying to set is already in use by other content, you'll need to change that content's URL before making your edits. 

Edit a page's URL

In the content editor, you can customize a page's domain and URL slug. You can also edit that page's canonical URL in its advanced settings. 

1. Navigate to your content:

   • Website Pages: In your HubSpot account, navigate to Content > Website Pages.
   • Landing Pages: In your HubSpot account, navigate to Content > Landing Pages.
2. Click the name of a page. 
3. In the content editor, click Settings in the top right.
4. In the dialog box, select General on the left menu.
5. If the page has already been published, click the edit edit icon next to Page URL. 
6. To change the domain of your page, click the Domain dropdown menu and select a domain. Only primary and secondary domains set up for publishing this type of page will be listed. Learn more about connecting a domain and the subscription limits for domains. 
7. To change the rest of the URL, enter a new URL string in the Content slug field. 
8. Click X to close the Settings dialog box.
9. To take your changes live, click Publish or Update in the top right.

Edit a blog post's URL

In the content editor, you can customize a blog post's URL slug or move the post to a different blog. You can change the domain and root URL of a specific blog in your blog settings. Learn more about connecting a domain and the subscription limits for domains. 

1. In your HubSpot account, navigate to Content > Blog.
2. Click the name of a post.
3. In the content editor, click Settings in the top right.
4. In the dialog box, select General on the left menu. 
5. To change which blog the post is hosted on, click the Blog dropdown menu and select a new blog. The post's URL will update automatically to include the URL of the new blog. The live post's URL won't change until the post is updated. 
6. If the post has already been published, click the edit edit icon next to the Post URL.
7. In the Content slug field, enter a new URL string.
8. Click X to close the Settings dialog box.
9. To take your changes live, click Publish or Update in the top right.

Edit a knowledge base article's URL

In the article editor, you can customize a knowledge base article's URL slug. You can also navigate to your knowledge base settings to change your knowledge base's root URL. Learn more about connecting a domain and the subscription limits for domains.  

1. In your HubSpot account, navigate to Service > Knowledge Base.
2. Click the name of an article.
3. In the content editor, click Settings in the top right.
4. In the dialog box, select General on the left menu. 
5. To change the root URL of your entire knowledge base, click Edit the root URL in settings. In your knowledge base settings, click Edit root URL in the Domain section. In the dialog box, click Yes, save it. 
6. To change the article's URL, enter a new URL slug in the Article URL field.
7. Click X to close the Settings dialog box. 
8. To take your changes live, click Publish or Update in the top right. 

Bulk update domains in page URLs

Bulk update the domain where multiple pages are hosted from the content index page. The URLs previously used for these pages will be automatically redirected to the URLs using the new domain. 

1. Navigate to your content:

   • Website Pages: In your HubSpot account, navigate to Content > Website Pages.
   • Landing Pages: In your HubSpot account, navigate to Content > Landing Pages.
2. Select the checkbox next to each page you want to update. 
3. At the top of the table, click the More dropdown menu and select Update domain.
4. In the dialog box, click the dropdown menu and select a domain, then click Update.
