Change the URL of your content

You can edit the URL of a published page, blog post, or knowledge base article on the Settings tab of the content editor. Keep in mind that changing a page's URL will affect its search rankings. Learn more about how URL changes can impact SEO. 

Please note: changing the URL of a page, post, or article will reset its view data in your analytics. 

Edit a page's URL

On the Settings tab of the page editor, you can customize that page's URL. The domain and URL slug are customized separately. You can edit your page or post's canonical URL in your advanced settings. 

Please note: if the URL you are trying to set is already in use by another page, you will need to change that page's URL before making your edits. 

  • Navigate to the Settings tab.
  • If the page has already been published, click the edit edit icon next to Page URL. In the dialog box, click Update to confirm that a redirect will be created from the page's previous URL to its new one. This redirect will only be created when the page is updated. 
  • To change the domain of your page, click the Domain dropdown menu and select a domain. Only primary and secondary domains set up for publishing this type of page will be listed. Learn more about connecting a domain and the subscription limits for domains.  
  • To change the rest of the URL, in the Content slug field, enter a new URL string
  • Click Update or Publish in the top right to take your page live. 

Edit a blog post's URL

On the Settings tab of the blog editor, you can customize a blog post's URL slug or move the post to a different blog. You can change the domain and root URL of a specific blog in your blog settings. Learn more about connecting a domain and the subscription limits for domains.  

Please note: if the URL you are trying to set is already in use by another post, you will need to change that post's URL before making your edits. 

  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to your blog.
  • Hover over the post you want to update and click Edit
  • Navigate to the Settings tab.
  • To change which blog the post is hosted on, click the Blog dropdown menu and select a new blog. The blog URL will update automatically to include the URL of the new blog. The live post's URL will not change until the post is updated. 
  • If the post has already been published, click the edit edit icon under Blog URL. In the dialog box, click Update to confirm that a redirect will be created from the post's previous URL to its new one. This redirect will only be created when the post is updated. 

  • In the Content slug field, enter a new URL string
  • Click Update or Publish in the top right to take your post live. 

Edit a knowledge base article's URL

On the Settings tab of the content editor, you can customize a knowledge base article's URL slug. You can also navigate to your knowledge base settings to change your knowledge base's root URL. Learn more about connecting a domain and the subscription limits for domains.  

Please note: if the URL you are trying to set is already in use by another article, you will need to change that article's URL before making your edits. 

  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to Service > Knowledge Base.
  • Navigate to the Articles tab. 
  • Hover over the article you want to update and click Edit
  • Navigate to the Settings tab.
  • To change the root URL of your whole knowledge base, click Edit the root URL in settings. In your knowledge base settings, click Edit root URL in the Domain section. In the dialog box, click Yes, save it
  • To change the article's URL, enter a new URL slug in the Article URL field.

  • Click Update or Publish in the top right to take your article live.
