How to configure your blog's date formatting options

The date formats depend on your preferred style, language, and your blog's audience. You can choose to publish dates in a short, long, or medium format or you can design a custom format.

1. Navigate to Content Settings

Navigate to Content > Content Settings.

2. Go to Blog Settings

Click on the Blog link in the Content Optimization System Options side menu.

3. Choose the blog whose settings you want to update

Choose the blog whose settings you want to modify. If you only have one blog, you'll only see one option in the drop-down menu.

4. Date Formats

Back on the left-hand side menu, choose Date Formats under the Blog option.

Modify the blog date formatting options

Customize your blog's time stamp settings to the format you like best. Keep in mind the geographic region of your target audience -- it's possible that your readers will prefer or be familiar with a different format than you are.

Choose the language for dates

Use the dropdown menu to choose the language in which all of the dates on your blog will be displayed. Then click Save changes to apply your selection.

Publish Date Format

Use the dropdown menu to choose the format for blog post publishing dates (the current date will be used as the example) and then click the Save changes button to apply your selection. If you're comfortable working with code, you can also choose to use a custom date format that you create using Locale Data Markup Language. You can find more information on using LDML by clicking on the What is this? link on the settings page.

Posts by Month Format

Use the drop-down menu to choose the format for the posts-by-month sidebar module (the current date will be used as the example) and then click Save changes to apply your selection. If you're comfortable working with code, you can also choose to use a custom date format that you create using Locale Data Markup Language. You can find more information on using LDML by clicking on the What is this? link on the settings page.
