Set up a compliance copy email

The compliance copy email feature automatically BCCs all outgoing messages to a designated email address. This feature is available for organizations required to evaluate all outgoing messages for compliance to standards set by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). A simple way to do this is to automatically BCC all outgoing messages to a designated email address where these messages can be reviewed for compliance later. 

Please note:
  • Sending a marketing email will generate a compliance copy email for each unique recipient. For example, if you send a marketing email to 1,000 contacts, you'll receive 1,000 compliance copy emails. Common free email providers (e.g., Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook.com) can't handle this type of email volume. If you connect and use a personal inbox for the BCC recipient, make sure the email provider can handle a high volume of compliance copy emails.
  • Any compliance copy emails sent count towards your email send limit.
  • In your HubSpot account, click the settings icon settings in the main navigation bar.
  • In the left sidebar, click Marketing > Email.
  • Click the Subscriptions tab.

  • Switch the Compliance copy email toggle on.

  • In the dialog box, enter the email of the person who will be receiving the BCC of all outgoing emails. Then click Save to send a confirmation email to the recipient.

  • If you need to update the recipient for your compliance copy email, click Edit recipient.
