To reuse filter criteria in saved views to build a segment, you can convert an index page view into a new segment. Once converted, the view's filters are automatically added to the segment, then you can continue setting up the segment's details.
For example, you have a saved view of contacts who are opportunities with recent sales engagement. You want to send a bulk email to them with offers. You can convert that view to a segment and then send a marketing email to the segment.
To convert a custom index page view to a segment:
- Navigate to your records.
- In the top right, click All views.
- Hover over the view you want to convert to a segment.
- Click More, then select Create Segment.
- You'll be brought to a new segment. Edit filters as needed, set up the segment's details, and save the segment.
Please note: conversion will fail if an index page filter is not supported in segments. Learn more about selecting filter criteria.
