Assign tasks to contacts

Tasks help you keep track of your to-do list within HubSpot. To track tasks that must be completed by contacts your business works with (e.g., customers, partners), assign tasks to contacts in your CRM.
For example, a customer must share documents to resolve a support ticket. The support representative assigns that contact a task and marks it as complete when the customer has sent the necessary files.
Edit customer tasks permission is required to view, edit, and delete tasks assigned to contacts.
Create a task for a contact
- In your HubSpot account, navigate to CRM > Tasks.

In the upper right, click Create task.
- In the Assigned to field, select Customer.
- In the Assigned Customer Contacts field, select the checkboxes of contacts that'll own the task.

- Finish entering the details for your task, then click Create.

Assign an existing task to a contact
- In your HubSpot account, navigate to CRM > Tasks.

Hover over the task to assign, then click Edit.

- In the Assigned to field, select Customer.
- In the Assigned Customer Contacts field, select the checkboxes of contacts that'll own the task.
- Click Save to confirm.
