Use the segment membership log to review the records added to or removed from a segment over time. If your segment has excluded or included records unexpectedly, use the membership history table to understand when and how records were added or removed. For example, check if a user manually added a group of records or if a change to the segment's filters removed a subset of records.
If you're a Super Admin, you can opt your account into the Segment membership history beta.
- In your HubSpot account, navigate to CRM > Segments.
- Click the name of a segment.
- Navigate to the Activity tab.
- Click [Object] memberships in the left sidebar menu.
- To filter membership history by specific records, the type of change (added or removed), or when the change occurred, use the dropdown menus above the table.
- For each record in the table, the following information is included. When records are included multiple times, the most recent changes are at the top of the table.
- [Object]: the name of the record added to or removed from the segment.
- Change type: whether the record was added or removed.
- Version: the version of the segment in which the membership change occurred. Learn more about comparing segment versions.
- Currently in segment: whether the record is currently included in the segment, either Yes or No.
- Source of change: the source that initiated the membership change. The source will be System if changed due to a HubSpot process, such as a filter update or a workflow action. The source will be a user's name if a record was manually added or removed.
- Date of change: the day and time the change occurred.
- In a static segment, to add or remove a record from the membership history log, hover over the record's row then click Add [object] or Remove [object].
