Publish YouTube videos from the HubSpot mobile app

While on the go, capture, upload, and publish videos to YouTube from the HubSpot mobile app. If you're using a computer or laptop, learn how to upload and publish YouTube videos on desktop.

Before you get started

Before you use this feature, review the requirements and video specifications for publishing to YouTube.

Publish a YouTube video from the HubSpot mobile app

  1. Open the HubSpot app on your device.
  2. In the bottom right, tap + Create. Then, tap Social post.
  3. Tap the checkboxes next to YouTube accounts that you'd like to post to. Then, tap Done
  4. Enter your social post content. The following fields are required: 
    • Video title: the title for your YouTube video.
      • You can use a maximum of 100 characters.
      • The title cannot include invalid characters such as '<'.
    • What would you like to say to your network: add a description for your post. The description has a 5,000 character limit. You can also include keywords to help users find your video when searching on YouTube. 
  5. To add a video, under Add media, select from the following:
    • Upload a video from your mobile device: tap From Device and then tap Choose video or Choose file
    • Record a new video: tap From Device and then tap Take video
    • Select a video from HubSpot files: tap HubSpot Files and then tap Choose video from HubSpot Files
      • When selecting an existing video from the files tool, the video must have visibility set Public or Public - noindex. If the video's visibility has been set to Private, you will not be able to select the video.
  6. To remove the video, tap the uploaded video. Then, tap Remove.
  7. To preview your thumbnail image, tap the uploaded video. Then, tap Preview.
  8. To customize the thumbnail image, tap the uploaded video and select from the following:
    • Set thumbnail from video frame: under Change Thumbnail, click and drag on the video timeline to select the video frame. Then, tap Update to [timestamp] to save that frame as the thumbnail. 
    • Set thumbnail from HubSpot files: under HubSpot Files, enter the image search term in the search bar. Then, tap on the image that you'd like to use as the thumbnail. 


  1. Set your YouTube post details: 
    • Publish time: choose to publish your video immediately or schedule to publish your video at a specific date and time. 
    • Campaign: choose to associate your video with a new or an existing campaign.
    • Audience: select Yes, it's made for kids or No, it's not made for kids to determine whether or not your video is suitable for children. This field is required. 
    • Language: select the primary language for your YouTube video.
    • Category: select a category to help users find your video more easily. For example, categorize an instructional video as Education. 
    • Visibility: select a visibility option for your YouTube video. You can set a video as Public, Private, or Unlisted. Learn more about YouTube's visibility options
    • Tags: enter tags to your YouTube video to allow users to find your video more easily. Learn more about YouTube tags.
    • License: select the license type for your video. By default, Standard YouTube License will be selected. 
    • Allow embedding: allow other users to embed your YouTube videos on their websites. 
    • Publish to subscriptions: publish the YouTube post to your subscriptions feed and notify your YouTube subscribers when you've published.
  1. To save your post as a draft, at the bottom, tap Save draft.
  2. To schedule or publish your YouTube post, at the bottom, tap Review.
  3. Review your YouTube post details. Then, at the bottom, tap Publish now or Schedule post.
