Create case studies to document and publish detailed examples of how customers use your products or services. These case studies can be used to provide context for prospects and support ongoing marketing and sales efforts.
Before you get started
Before creating and managing case studies, review the requirements and considerations.
Please note: Please avoid sharing any sensitive information in your enabled data inputs for AI features, including your prompts. Admins can configure generative AI features in account management settings. Understand requirements
- To generate case studies with Breeze, a Super Admin must toggle the following switches on in AI Settings:

- Give users access to generative AI tools and features
- CRM data
- Customer conversion data
- Files data
- Give users access to Breeze Assistant
Permissions required The follow permissions are required:

Edit and Publish permission is required to create and manage case studies.
- Global content and theme settings permission is required to edit global content and themes for case studies.
Understand limitations & considerations
- Case studies can only be created using the default template.
Create a case study
Create a case study manually or generate one with Breeze, then add content and manage modules.
Create a case study manually
- In your HubSpot account, navigate to Content > Case Studies.
- Click Start from scratch or Create.
- In the editor, click the siteTreeIcon Contents icon to customize the content of the modules for your case studies:
- Company logo: your customer's logo.
- Title: the case study's title.
- Media and summary: an overview of key facts about the customer and case study.
- Success metrics: up to four metrics that quantify your company's impact on your customer.
- Testimonials: up to four quotes from your customer's employees.
- About company: a short overview of your customer's business.
- Case study body: the main content of your case study, including the customer's challenge, your solution, and the results.
- Call to action: provide next steps for visitors to the page.
- Related case studies: other case studies with similar profiles.
Generate a case study with Breeze
- In your HubSpot account, navigate to Content > Case Studies.
- In the top right, click Start with AI.
- Enter details about the case study in the Case study topic or idea field.
- Click the Country of target audience dropdown menu and select a country.
- To add details from a specific company in your account, click the Company dropdown menu and select a company. To add a new company, click the Company dropdown menu, then click Add company and create a company.
- To customize additional details for the case study, click the Customize details section.
- Click the Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) dropdown menu to select an ICP.
- Click the Content language dropdown menu to select a language.
- In the bottom right, click Select title.
- Review the list of titles and SEO keywords based on your prompt, along with the following metrics:
- MSV: Monthly Search Volume, the number of times per month users searched for this term on Google.
- Difficulty to rank: the difficulty to rank organically on search engine results pages for that keyword. A higher number indicates greater difficulty ranking well in search results.
- Keyword intent: the general goal of the person performing the search. The following keyword intents may appear:
- Navigational: find a specific page.
- Informational: learn more about a topic.
- Commercial: research products before making a purchase.
- Transactional: complete a specific action, usually a purchase.
- To generate additional titles, click Show more titles.
- Select a title.
- In the bottom right, click Add documents.
- Add audio, image, text, or video files to improve your case study. Any uploaded images will be included in the case study. Click Upload files to add files from your device or Browse to add files from the files tool.
- Click Generate case study.
Manage modules
- In the editor, click the siteTreeIcon Contents icon.
- To hide a case study module, hover over a module and click the remove Remove icon. The Title, Media and summary and Case study body modules can't be removed.
- To add a hidden module back to a case study, hover over the module and click the add Add icon.
Preview a case study
Preview a case study to review its content and layout before publishing or sharing it.
- In your HubSpot account, navigate to Content > Case Studies.
- Click the name of a case study.
- In the editor, click Preview in the top right.
- To preview the case study on a different device, click a mobile device icon at the top of the preview page.
- To access a full-page preview, click Open in a new tab in the top right. To share this preview page with other users in your HubSpot account, click Copy link on the preview page. Users must be logged into HubSpot to view this preview.
Publish or schedule a case study
After reviewing the case study, publish it immediately or schedule it to publish or unpublish it later.
- In your HubSpot account, navigate to Content > Case Studies.
- Click the name of a case study.
- In the editor, click Publish in the top right to take the case study live immediately.
- To schedule a case study for publishing, click the dropdown menu next to the Publish/Update button and select Scheduling options.
- In the dialog box, click Schedule publish/update.
- Select a date and time, then click Schedule.
- To schedule a case study for unpublishing, click the dropdown menu next to the Publish/Update button and select Scheduling options.
- In the dialog box, click the Schedule unpublish tab, then click Schedule unpublish.
- Select a date and time, then click Schedule.
Edit settings for a case study
Edit a case study's settings such as the title, URL, metadata, and associated content settings.
- In your HubSpot account, navigate to Content > Case Studies.
- Click the name of a case study.
- In the editor, click the Settings menu and select General.
- Enter the name of your case study in the Title field. This title will appear populated in the Title module on the page.
- Enter a URL slug to customize the page's URL in the Page URL field.
- Enter a description of the post's content that'll appear in search results in the Meta Description field.
- In the Social Share Image field, click Upload to add an image that'll appear when the case study is shared on social media. To add an image from the files tool, click Browse images.
- To select an industry for the case study, click the Industry dropdown menu and select your customer's industry.
- To associate the case study with a campaign, click the Campaigns dropdown menu and select a campaign. Learn more about using campaigns.
- To tell search engines which URL to prefer if this content is available elsewhere on your site, enter a URL in the Canonical URL field. Learn more about using canonical URLs.
- When finished, click Publish or Update to take your changes live.
Edit case study appearance
Case study appearance is controlled through theme settings and global content, such as the header, and footer.
Please note: themes and global content may be used across multiple pages, so review where they're used before making changes.
- In your HubSpot account, navigate to Content > Case Studies.
- To edit the styling of your case studies, click the Configure dropdown menu in the top right, and select Theme. Learn more about working with themes.
- To edit the header or footer, click the Configure dropdown menu in the top right and select Header or Footer. Learn more about working with global content like headers and footers.
Edit the case studies listing page
- In your HubSpot account, click the settings settings icon in the top navigation bar.
- In the left sidebar menu, navigate to Content > Case Studies.
- To change the domain of your case studies, click the Domain dropdown menu and select the domain where your case studies will be hosted. Then enter a URL in the Case studies slug field.
Please note: case studies can be hosted on any connected primary or secondary domain.
- In the Listing Page section, enter a title for your listing page in the Page title field. This title will appear in the browser title bar and on the listing page as a header.
- In the Page subheading field, enter a subheading that will appear under the title on the listing page.
- In the Meta description field, enter a description of the listing page that will appear in search results.
- When finished, click Save in the bottom left.
