Create and analyze a Google AdWords campaign in HubSpot's ads add-on

To create a new Google AdWords campaign in HubSpot's ads add-on:

  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Lead Capture > Ads.
  • Select Create ad campaign > Google Ads search campaign.


  • Select the HubSpot landing page on which you want to base your campaign from the dropdown menu. If you'd like to use an external landing page, click Or manually enter a page URL, input the URL, and click Select

  • Next, choose a HubSpot CampaignPaid Campaign Name, and AdGroup Name. Choose whether or not to include search partners in the Networks section.

  • Click Next
  • In the Create an ad screen, make sure all the information here is correct: Headline, Description line 1 and 2, Display URL, and Final URL.
  • Click Next.
  • Verify you have the keywords you want in your campaign. Click the X next to an already added keyword to remove it, or type in a keyword and click Add to add a new keyword. 
  • Click Next.
  • On the Target Locations screen, click into the dropdown menu, then type in a location where you want to run your campaign. You can choose multiple locations here. 
  • Click Next.
  • Set your Maximum cost per click and Daily budget. Click Need help calculating your bid? to input your average sales price, customer close rate, and landing page conversion rate to calculate an appropriate cost per click and daily budget.
  • Once you've set your budget, click Next
  • Finally, review and create your Adwords campaign. Click Edit next to a section to make any changes. When you're satisified with your choices, click Done.

Analyze your AdWords campaign 

You can analyze your AdWords campaign performance in the ads add-on:

  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Lead Capture > Ads.
  • On the ads dashboard, click the Accounts dropdown menu and select your Google AdWords account. You'll see an overview of your ad campaigns' performance, including the impressions, clicks, number of new contacts, and deals generated from these campaigns. 
  • Click the Date dropdown menu to filter your data by a specific time range, or click the Campaign Status dropdown menu to filter your data by status. 
  • Click the name of an AdWords campaign to get a breakdown of a specific campaign's performance. 
  • Click the name of an AdGroup that is part of your campaign to see a list of ads that are included in the AdGroup. adwords-ad-analytics
  • Click the Ads dropdown menu and select Keywords to see a list of keywords associated with each AdGroup.  adwords-keywords
  • If you want to add more keywords to your campaign, click the Optimize tab to review keyword suggestions.
