In addition to using suppression lists, goals, or unenrollment triggers to automate workflow unenrollment, records can also be manually unenrolled from workflows.
While all record types can be manually unenrolled from the workflow details page, contacts can also be manually unenrolled from the contact record.
If you're looking to unenroll contacts from sequences instead, learn more about how sequence unenrollment works, and unenrolling contacts from sequences using workflows.
Before you get started
- The option to unenroll a record from a workflow will only appear if the record is still active in the workflow. If the record has completed the workflow, the option will not appear.
- Unenrolling a record prevents future workflow actions from executing for the contact. It does not undo actions that have already executed.
- Manually unenrolling records will remove them from the workflow. However, if they meet re-enrollment triggers, they can enroll in the same workflow again. To prevent contacts from ever re-enrolling in a specific workflow, you can use a suppression list or unenrollment triggers.
Unenroll records from the workflow details page
- In your HubSpot account, click More, then navigate to Automation > Workflows. If More doesn't appear in your account, navigate to Automation > Workflows directly.
- Hover over the name of the workflow and click More. Then, select View details.
- On the workflow details page, click the Action logs tab or the Enrollment history tab.
- In the upper right of the tab, click the Choose contact dropdown menu and use the search bar to search for the record.
- In the table, hover over an event for the record, then click Unenroll.
- In the dialog box, click Yes. The selected record will be unenrolled from the workflow.
Unenroll records in a delay
You can unenroll a record directly when queued in a delay:

- In the table, click the name of the workflow.
- In the workflow editor, on the specific delay action, click [number of records] in action.
- In the left panel, select the checkboxes next to the records that you'd like to unenroll. It is not possible to unenroll all records in a delay at once.
- At the top, click Unenroll.
- In the dialog box, click Yes.
