When a contact's email address bounces and you export all unsubscribes and bounces from your HubSpot portal, you will be able to see if a contact bounced from your portal or globally across multiple HubSpot portals. Here are the definitions of portal bounce and global bounce:

  • Portal bounce: A bounce occurred on this contact record because an email was rejected by the recipient's server from your HubSpot portal.
  • Global bounce: A bounce occurred on this contact record because an email was rejected by the recipient's server across multiple HubSpot portals.
    • Global bounces happen only for permanent reasons. This typically happens if a contact leaves their company and their inbox has been taken down or if there is a typo in the email address.
