Create and assign marketing tasks in the campaigns tool

Create marketing tasks to help you and your team keep your marketing campaigns on track and organized. Only users with Campaigns Publish permissions can create and review marketing tasks. 

Create a marketing task

To create a marketing task from the campaigns tool:
  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Campaigns.
  • At the top, click the Tasks tab.
  • In the upper right, click Create task.
     

 

  • In the right panel, set up your task details:
    • Title: enter a title for the task. This is a required field. 
    • Type: select a content type for the task.
    • Campaign: select an existing campaign to associate the task with.
    • Assigned to: select a HubSpot user for the task. If the assignee has Task assigned to you notifications enabled, they'll be notified of the task assignment when it is created.
    • Due date: set a due date for the task.
    • Due time: set a due time for the task.
    • Notes: enter any additional notes for the task.
  • At the bottom, click Save. The task will appear on your marketing calendar at the selected date and time.
     

     

Complete, edit, or delete marketing tasks

To edit or delete a task:

  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Campaigns.
  • At the top, click the Tasks tab.
  • To complete a task, click the checkmark next to the task. 
  • To edit a task:
    • In the table, hover over the task and click Edit.
    • In the right panel, make edits to the task details. 
    • At the bottom, click Save.
  • To delete tasks in bulk:
    • Select the checkboxes next to the tasks you want to delete.
    • At the top of the table, click Delete.
    • In the dialog box, click Delete tasks.
       

 

Filter and organize your marketing tasks 

To filter and organize your marketing tasks in the tasks table:

  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Campaigns.
  • At the top, click the Tasks tab.
  • To filter the tasks based on due date or completion status, at the top, click the Due today, Overview, or All completed tab. 
  • To customize task filters, click Filter and select the task typedue date, or priority of the tasks you want to view. Then, click Apply
     

 

  • To edit the columns in the table, click Edit Columns, then customize the dashboard's columns In the dialog box:
    • In the left panel, select the checkboxes next to the columns to add to the table.
    • In the right panel, click X next to the columns to remove from the table.
    • After customizing your columns, click Save
       


 

Manage marketing tasks in the marketing calendar

To manage a task directly on the marketing calendar:

  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Campaigns.
  • At the top, click the Tasks tab.
  • At the top, click the Calendar tab.
  • Click the name of the task.
    • To open the campaign in a new browser tab, click the [ethecampaign name]
    • To mark the task as complete, click the checkmark in the bottom left.
    • To edit the task within the calendar, click Edit.
    • To delete the task, click Delete.
 

 

  • If you've confirmed your Tasks permissions are correct, ensure you have selected the correct campaign and event type filters.

Please note: selecting the Recurring email checkbox allows you to view blog subscription and RSS emails in the calendar, but will not include automated emails that you created using the workflows tool.
