How to add an external site to be tracked by HubSpot

HubSpot will automatically track any page that has your account's tracking code installed on it. All HubSpot hosted pages automatically include this code, and you can install the tracking code on your external or Wordpress site.

In addition to adding the tracking code to your external site, you will want to ensure that your external site's domain or subdomain is added to your Reports > Reports Settings > Domains list. Any domain or subdomain on this list will be seen as part of your site in HubSpot's reporting and visits between your HubSpot hosted and external sites will be filtered out of your Sources referral traffic and other reporting.

Follow the steps below to define the list of domains and subdomains that you want to track in HubSpot.

Go to Reports Settings

From your HubSpot Dashboard, navigate to Reports > Reports Settings.

Make sure the domains you want to track are listed in the domains table

Scroll to the Domains table and confirm that the domains you want to limit visitor tracking to are listed in the table. You can add additional domains and subdomains using the plus button.

Once you've added your external domains, make sure you click Save at the bottom of the Domains section to save and implement your changes.

Please note: You still need to have the tracking code installed on the listed domains in order to track visitor's information.
