After publishing and sharing your HubSpot form, you can take steps to prevent spam form submissions.

If HubSpot detects a form submission with a URL or a HTML tag in the first or last name field, it will automatically be flagged as spam. In addition, submissions to embedded HubSpot forms on external pages that haven't been added to your site domains will be filtered to your spam submissions. These submissions will not result in any CRM records and will be listed in a separate section of the forms tool. Any spam submissions that are not released within 90 days will be automatically deleted.

To access, release, or delete your spam form submissions:
  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Forms.
  • In the forms table, search for and review the form that you want to analyze. Review the number of spam submissions from the spam submissions column.
  • If your spam submissions column is not displayed:
  • From the spam submissions column, click the [number of spam submissions].

  • In the top left of the spam submissions dashboard, you can filter the spam submissions:
    • Form Name: filter by the name of the form that the submission was to.
    • Submitted on: filter by the date of the submission.
    • Will be deleted after: filter by the date the submission will be deleted.
  • To review a submission's details, hover over the submission and click View submission.
  • In the right panel, review the submission's details:
    • If you've confirmed that the submission is valid, click Release to release the submission. This will release the submission and create a new record or update your existing records.
    • If you've confirmed that a submission is spam, click Delete to delete the submission. This will permanently delete the spam submission.

  • To manage your spam submissions in bulk from the spam submissions table:
    • To select multiple submissions, click the checkboxes next to the submissions you want to release or delete.
    • To select all submissions, click the checkbox in the top left of the table.
    • At the top of the table:
      • To release the submissions, click Release to submissions
      • To delete the submissions, click Delete
