BetaTransfer email templates from other apps using HubSpot Smart Transfer

Use HubSpot Smart Transfer to migrate HTML email templates from other marketing platforms into your HubSpot account. You can transfer templates from Salesforce’s Account Engagement (Pardot), Marketo, Mailchimp, and ActiveCampaign, then recreate them in HubSpot using AI.

This helps reduce the time and effort required to manually rebuild email templates when moving to HubSpot’s email marketing tools. For example, if you’re transitioning from Marketo to HubSpot, you can transfer your existing HTML templates and generate HubSpot versions in just a few steps.

Before you get started

Before working with Smart Transfer for email templates, please note the following:

• You must have access to the external app (Salesforce’s Account Engagement, Marketo, Mailchimp, or ActiveCampaign) to export or retrieve the HTML template files.

• The recreated template in HubSpot may need to be reviewed and tested before it is used for marketing emails.

Transfer email templates using Smart Transfer

Use Smart Transfer to transfer email templates from other marketing platforms to HubSpot. Once the transfer is complete, you can open the templates in the marketing email editor for further editing and customization.

Necessary disclosure: By using this feature, you represent you have all necessary rights and that your use complies with applicable law and third-party terms. You instruct HubSpot to process the content using AI to recreate it. HubSpot may retain and use submitted template content and related outputs to operate, support, and improve this feature.

1. In your HubSpot account, navigate to Data Management > Data Integration.

2. Click Transfer data.

3. Select the app you want to transfer templates from:

• • ActiveCampaign

  • Mailchimp
  • Marketo

  • Salesforce’s Account Engagement (Pardot)

4. Navigate to the Configure Transfer tab and click Transfer more data.

5. On the Data types page, select the Email template checkbox. 

6. Click Next.

7. On the Configure page, select the checkbox next to the email template you want to transfer. To select all email templates, select the checkbox at the top of the table. You can also click Preview next to an email template to review its design. 

8. Click Next.
9. On the Review page, review the templates you have selected to be transferred to HubSpot.
10. Click Transfer. 

After the transfer begins, you'll be redirected to the Configure transfer tab where the transfer will process. When the transfer is complete, the templates will appear in the Transfer results table.

1. In the Created column, click [count].

2. On the Transferred records side panel, click the name of the template.

3. The template will open in the marketing email editor, where you can further edit and customize the template.

4. Once done, in the top right click Save and update to add it to your saved templates in HubSpot.
