Clone a record

Last updated: June 24, 2025

Available with any of the following subscriptions, except where noted:

All products and plans

You can clone a record to quickly pre-fill property values and associations. This saves time and reduces manual input. Supported objects include contacts, companies, deals, tickets, appointments, services, courses, listings, and custom objects (Enterprise only). The clone panel mirrors the create record panel. This means default and custom property values and associations are copied. Associations such as quotes, activities, or attachments will not be automatically copied.

Create a cloned record

Only Super Admins or users with Edit permissions for the object and who can view the source record can clone a record.

  1. Navigate to your records.
  2. Click the name of the record you want to clone.
  3. In the upper left, click Actions then select Clone.
  4. In the right panel, review the values and associations to clone. If desired, you can make changes.

Please note: unique property values (e.g., Email, Company domain name, and custom properties) or properties with Sensitive Data will be cleared. This means you will need to manually enter a value for those properties after cloning.

  1. Enter a value for any required or unique value properties (e.g., Email on a contact).
  2. Click Clone when you are finished.
