Customize HubSpot Sales Chrome extension settings
Last updated: March 19, 2026
Available with any of the following subscriptions, except where noted:
In your HubSpot Sales Chrome extension settings, configure your default options for the extension. You can connect the add-in to another HubSpot account, configure your default log and track settings, and access your email integration settings.
In addition to customizing your extension's settings, you can access the HubSpot Knowledge Base, take a tour of the extension and its features, or review HubSpot's Customer Terms of Service from the extension settings. You can also uninstall the extension or submit feedback on the extension directly from the extension settings.
Customize log and track settings
Customize your default log and track preferences so the settings are applied each time you send an email from Gmail. You can also add email addresses and domains to the Never log list to prevent emails sent to these addresses or domains from logging to HubSpot.
Set log and track preferences
Set the default log and track settings applied when you compose a new email in your inbox.
- In Gmail, click the sprocket sprocket icon at the top of your inbox and select Log and track settings.
- To log all emails by default, toggle the Log email switch on.
- To track all emails by default, toggle the Track email switch on.
Customize default email associations
Super Admins can customize which associated records emails automatically log to. For example, you can choose to only log emails to a record's associated deals. The activity association defaults apply to emails sent through the sales extension, sent through HubSpot, manually logged on a record, and emails logged with BCC or forwarding addresses.
To customize the default association settings applied when you compose a new email in your inbox:
- In Gmail, click the sprocket sprocket icon at the top of your inbox and select Log and track settings.
- In the Default Email Associations section, customize the following:
- Create new contacts: select the checkbox to create a new contact when logging an email using an email address that doesn’t already exist in your CRM.
- Hide suggested associations: select the checkbox to hide suggested associations when you log an email. When this setting is turned on, only the record types configured in default association settings will display when logging an email.
- To review or customize the default association settings for your HubSpot account, click Manage Other Default Associations. You'll be directed to your activities settings in HubSpot where you can configure default activity associations for records.
Configure never log settings
Emails sent to an email address or domain included in your Never log list will never be saved to your CRM. Email tracking activity will also not appear on the contact's timeline.
- In Gmail, click the sprocket sprockesprocket icon at the top of your inbox and select Log and track settings.
- In the Never log field, enter email addresses or domains you don't want to log emails for and click Add. These emails and domains are blocked for you only.
- If you're a user with Account permissions, you can block email addresses and domains for every user in your account. Enter the email addresses or domains, click the Add dropdown menu, then select Block for all users.
- To remove an email address or domain from this list, hover over it and click the delete delete icon.
You can also specify Never log emails and domains in your HubSpot account settings and block specific IP addresses from email tracking in HubSpot.
Customize the sales toolbar
Customizing the toolbar in your Gmail compose window helps you organize frequently used tools in a single row to keep your workspace focused. For example, if you primarily use templates and tasks, you can hide sequences and documents.
-
In Gmail, compose a new email or open an existing email.
-
In the compose window, click More. Then, select Configure.
- To manage the tools displayed in the toolbar, click Add Tools.
- Select or clear the checkboxes next to each tool. Selected tools will automatically be added to the sales toolbar.
- To reorder tools, click the directional arrows or click and drag the tool to your preferred configuration.
- To hide a tool from the toolbar, click the delete delete icon next to the tool you want to remove.
Changes to the toolbar save automatically. Learn more about how to use sales tools in the HubSpot Sales Chrome extension.
Manage email integration settings
Manage the settings for your connected inbox.
- In Gmail, click the sprocket sprockesprocket icon at the top of your inbox and select Email integration settings.
- You'll be brought to your HubSpot account's email integration settings where you can:
-
- Connect or disconnect your inbox.
-
- Configure extension sync.
- Manage additional BCC addresses.
- Manage blocked IP addresses.
- Set up lead revisit notifications.
Turn off the extension
Turning off the extension for an email inbox will remove the ability to use sales features like sequences, templates, documents, and the Track and Log options in your inbox.
- In Gmail, click the sprocket sprockesprocket icon at the top of your inbox.
- To turn off tracking for your inbox, click Turn off extension for this Gmail inbox.
Please note: HubSpot will continue to send notifications for tracked emails that were sent before you turned off the extension.
Switch the connected HubSpot account
If you're using multiple HubSpot accounts, you can switch which account the extension is linked to. When you switch to another account:
- Your inbox will use the new account's CRM and email tools.
- Your logged emails and contacts will go to the new account's CRM.
- Any sequences or emails already scheduled will finish sending and logging to the original CRM.
To switch the connected HubSpot account:
- In Gmail, click the sprocket sprockesprocket icon at the top of your inbox.
- Scroll to the HubSpot account section, then click Switch HubSpot account.
- Navigate to the HubSpot account that you want to switch to and click Select.
- In the dialog box, click Switch account.
