Sync lead ownership and activities

The lead owner property assigns user as owners of the lead. By default, the properties are independent of the Contact or Company owner of the records they are associated with, so the user who owns a contact or company may not own the associated lead. To maintain consistent ownership between associated leads and contacts, you can turn on the sync ownership setting.
Activities from the associated contact or company don't sync to the lead by default. To maintain consistent ownership of activities, you can turn on the sync for lead activities.
To sync lead ownership:
- In your HubSpot account, click the settings settings icon in the top navigation bar.
- In the left sidebar menu, navigate to Objects > Leads.
- You can automatically set the lead owner to the same owner as the contact or company. To do this, click to toggle the Sync lead owner with contact and company owner switch on.
- To also updates your existing open leads, click Yes in the dialogue box.
Please note: if a lead owner changes after a lead is set to Closed, it won't be updated automatically.
To sync lead activities:
- Users with Super Admin permissions can automatically sync lead activities with lead owners. To do this, click to toggle the Sync lead activities with lead owner switch on.
- To turn off either setting, click to switch the switch off.
