See if a specific contact opted-out of email communication

On the contact record you can see if a contact has opted out of all emails or a specific subscription typeYou can also export a list of all ineligible contacts in your account from your email dashboard.

To see if a contact has opted out of all email communication:

  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to Contacts > Contacts.
  • Click the name of the contact to view the contact's record.
  • If the contact has opted out of all email, there will be an alert under the contact's name noting that Contact is opted-out of email.

To see if a contact has opted out of a specific email subscription type:

  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to Contacts > Contacts.
  • Click the name of the contact to view the contact's record.
  • In the About section, click View all properties.

  • Click to expand the Email Information property group.
  • Search for opted out and check the value for each Opted out of  [email type] property. By default, the property will be blank. If the value is Yes, the contact has opted out of that particular email type. If a contact opted out of a particular email type and later opted back in, the value will be set to No.
