View and analyze form submissions

After collecting responses with a form, review form submission trends and view each submission to better understand how contacts interact with your form. Use this data to evaluate the form's performance and verify that you're collecting the information your business needs.

This article focuses on analyzing submissions for a single form. To analyze submissions across all forms, learn how to analyze form performance with form submission reports.

Permissions required  View forms permissions are required to view form submission data. 

View form submissions

Review all submissions made to a form within your selected date range. 

  1. In your HubSpot account, click More, then navigate to Marketing > Forms. If More doesn't appear in your account, navigate to Marketing > Forms directly.

  2. Hover over a form and click Actions. Then, select View submissions
  3. On the Submissions tab, hover over a submission and click View submission to view the response details. This may include the name or email address of the contact, the date they submitted the form, and any additional fields included in their submission.
  4. In the bottom left of the panel, click View object records and select an associated [record type] to view the record in the CRM.

You can access the form submission directly from the notification, or to view form submissions on a contact or lead record: 

  1. Open the HubSpot app on your mobile device.
  2. Tap the Menu icon in the top left. 
  3. Tap Contacts or Leads in the left sidebar.
  4. Tap the Form submitted activity to view its details. You can view the name or email address of the contact, the date they submitted the form, and any additional fields submitted. 

Analyze form responses

Review a breakdown of form responses for an individual form. Each form field is displayed as an individual report to help you identify response patterns over time.

To analyze form responses:

  1. In your HubSpot account, click More, then navigate to Marketing > Forms. If More doesn't appear in your account, navigate to Marketing > Forms directly.

  2. Click the form name.
  3. Click the Analyze tab.
  4. To view data for a specific period of time, click the date picker and select a date.

Review form performance

Monitor submission activity and track performance for your form. 

  1. In your HubSpot account, click More, then navigate to Marketing > Forms. If More doesn't appear in your account, navigate to Marketing > Forms directly.
  2. Click the form name.
  3. To view data for a specific period of time, click the date picker and select a date.

On the Performance tab, review the following form data for your selected date range.

  • Last 30 days: review the form's performance metrics. 

    • Views: the total number of views of pages (HubSpot pages or external pages with your HubSpot tracking code) your form appears. Submissions made through the forms API will not result in views.
    • Conversion rate: the total number of submissions divided by the total number of views for the form.
    • Submissions: the total number of times the form has been submitted across all your pages.
    • Click-through rate (pop-up forms only): the number of times the pop-up form (legacy) has been clicked.
    • Form views (pop-up forms only): the number of views the pop-up form (legacy) receives when the tracking code is loaded and the pop-up is displayed on a page.

  • To review each form metric over time, click the dropdown menu and select a metric (e.g., views, conversion rate, or submissions). 
  • Step Completion: the number of visitors that have completed the following steps:
    • Page Visits: the number of visits to the HubSpot pages that the form is located on.
    • Visible on screen: the number of visitors with at least one pixel of the form visible on the visitor's browser. 
    • Interacted with: the number of visitors that have interacted with the form. For example, clicks on form elements such as form fields or rich text areas. 
    • Submitted: the number of submissions to the form.
  • Contact type: the number of new and existing contacts that have submitted the form.
  • Conversion pages: the views, submissions, and conversion rate for each of the pages the form was submitted on. 
  • Submissions by source: the views, submissions, and conversion rate by the source of the session when the form was submitted.
