Analyze form submissions data

Analyze your regular and pop-up form submissions to evaluate their effectiveness and determine if you're collecting the right information from your contacts.

Forms dashboard overview

In the Manage tab, you’ll see an overview of all of your forms. At the top of the page, you can use the filters to view you forms by specific time frame, form type, and teams.

Manage

  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Lead Capture > Forms.
  • The forms dashboard displays your regular and pop-up forms, along with their views, submission rate, and submissions for the selected time period, and the number of HubSpot pages they appear on.
  • In the upper left, use the filters to filter data by time period and form type. If you select a date range consisting of a week, the default starting day is Sunday.

Please note:
if a form has not been added to any HubSpot pages or is embedded on an external page, No HubSpot pages will display in the Appears on column. This also applies to forms that were added to a HubSpot page with the form embed code instead of the standard form module and pop-up forms.

  • Hover over a form and click the Actions dropdown menu to:
    • Share form: view and copy the form embed code and direct link. Learn more about sharing a form on an external site.
    • View submissions: view an overview of the form submissions.
    • Export submissions: export all submissions on the form in a CSV, XLS, or XLSX file.
    • View file uploads: access all files submitted via a file upload field on the form. This option will not appear if no files were uploaded in form submissions.
    • Create list of contacts: create a list of contacts that submitted the form (Marketing Hub Starter, Basic, Professional, or Enterprise only).
    • Clone form: clone the form.
    • Move form: move the form to a folder.
    • Create translation: create a translation of the form.
    • Assign users & teams: select which users and teams have access to this content (Marketing Hub Enterprise only).

Analyze

In the Analyze tab, you’ll see aggregated analytics for your forms. To analyze data over a specific period of time, click the time dropdown menu at the top.

  • Views: the total number of views of all the pages (HubSpot pages or external pages with your HubSpot tracking code) your form appears on.
  • Conversion rate: the total number of all-time submissions divided by the total number of all-time views for the form.
  • Submissions: the total number of times the form has been submitted across all your pages.
  • Total form submissions over views: the total number of form submissions compared to form views.
  • All forms: a list of all forms with details of form type, views and submissions.

Analyze individual form submissions

  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Lead Capture > Forms.
  • To view submissions for a specific form, hover over the form and click the Actions dropdown menu, then select View submissions.

Performance

In the Performance tab, you'll see detailed metrics about the form. To analyze data over a specific period of time, click the time dropdown menu at the top.In the Performance tab At the top of the page, you'll see the overall statistics for your form:

  • Views: the total number of views of all the pages (HubSpot pages or external pages with your HubSpot tracking code) your form appears on.
  • Conversion rate: the total number of all-time submissions divided by the total number of all-time views for the form.
  • Submissions: the total number of times the form has been submitted across all your pages.
  • Conversion funnel: the conversion path the contact went through.
  • Contact type: the number of new and existing contacts that submitted on the form.
  • Conversion pages: the total number of conversion rate of the pages the form was submitted on. 
  • Submissions by source: the source of the session in which the form submissions occurred. 
Below the top level metrics is a data visualization chart that plots conversion rate, form views and submissions over time.
  • To see a different metric in the data visualization chart, click the dropdown menu in the upper left and select another metric.
  • Hover your mouse over a specific point on this graph to view a breakdown of the statistics.
  • To adjust the timeframe for your report, click the time dropdown menu at the top of the Performance tab.

Analyze

In the Analyze tab, you'll see a detailed breakdown of responses that have been submitted by your contacts. Each question in your form is broken down into an individual report. To analyze data over a specific period of time, click the time dropdown menu at the top.

Submissions

In the Submissions tab, you’ll see a list of submissions made to this form. To analyze data over a specific period of time, click the time dropdown menu at the top.
  • To view the details of a specific form submission, hover over the submission and click View submission.
  • In the right pane, you'll see the name or email address of the contact, the date they submitted the form, and information they included in their submission.
  • In the bottom left of the pane, click View contact externalLink to view the contact record in a new browser tab. This option will not appear if the contact has been deleted from HubSpot.
