If leads from LinkedIn Lead Gen ads aren't syncing to HubSpot after connecting your LinkedIn Ads account, the issue may be caused by insufficient user permissions or by attribution report filters that hide synced leads. Follow the steps below to check both causes.

If you’ve opted into the Leads Tab in Ads beta, you can review the Error types section to identify and troubleshoot errors.

Confirm your account's lead syncing permissions

To sync leads, the user who connected the LinkedIn account must be assigned a Business Page role, such as Super admin, Content admin, or Lead Gen Forms Manager. Having an ad account role (such as Account Manager, Campaign Manager, or Billing Admin) in Campaign Manager does not grant permissions for the LinkedIn Business Page.

To check the permissions of each user who has access to the page in your LinkedIn account:

  1. Log in to your LinkedIn account.
  2. In the left sidebar menu, under My pages, select the page to sync.
  3. In the left sidebar menu, scroll down and click Settings.
  4. In the right panel, click Manage Admins.

  1. Under the Page Admins tab, locate your LinkedIn user and confirm that you're listed as a Super admin, Content admin, or Lead Gen Forms Manager. If you're not listed with one of these roles, you will need to request admin access to the LinkedIn page.
  2. After the required permissions are granted, return to HubSpot to sync leads from your lead ad forms to HubSpot.

Check your report filters

Depending on which attribution report you've selected in the ads dashboard, some synced leads may not display. For example, the First form submission attribution report will only display contacts who were created as a result of filling out a lead form. If a contact existed in your account before converting on a lead form, they would not display with the First form submission filter selected.

To check for any discrepancies that may have resulted from the report's filtering:

  • If you have a Marketing Hub Professional and Enterprise subscription, you can use the All form submissions attribution report to see all leads that have synced from lead ads.
  • If specific leads appear to be missing, you can navigate to your contacts and search by email address. Synced leads will have an ad event and a lead ad form submission event on their contact record, which you can use for list and workflow segmentation.
