Do I need to add HubSpot to our SPF record?

HubSpot sends email on your behalf using our shared email servers. SPF is used to verify the identity of that server, so we already have an SPF policy in place to cover HubSpot's shared system.

Adding HubSpot to your SPF record is not needed to send email from HubSpot, but it's recommended when using a DMARC policy with HubSpot.

While adding an SPF record to your DNS isn't necessary, it's always a best practice to connect your email sending domain.

Please note: it is strongly recommended that you work with your IT department before making changes to your DNS records.

  • In your HubSpot Marketing Basic, Professional, or Enterprise account, click the settings icon in the main navigation bar.
  • Next, in the left sidebar, click Domains & URLs.
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Advanced Options.
  • Click Copy SPF record to copy the record to your clipboard. You can now add this record to your DNS records.
