How can I import my Google Doc into HubSpot as a blog post?

You can import your Google Docs into your HubSpot blog either from the Google Doc or from a HubSpot blog post in compose mode using the HubSpot Collect extension for Google Chrome.

 

From your Google Doc

  • In Google Chrome, navigate here and click + Add to Chrome to install the HubSpot Collect extension.
  • You'll be prompted to select your HubSpot account. This is where your Google Docs will be imported and content clippings from the web will be saved. 

  • Navigate to the Google Doc you'd like to import. 
  • Click the HubSpot Collect extension
  • You'll be prompted to allow HubSpot to access your Google account. Click Continue

  • Enter your Google credentials or select your account and login. 
  • On the next page, give HubSpot permission to access your Google account by clicking Allow

  • Once you've given HubSpot permission to access your Google account, you'll be prompted to import your doc into your HubSpot blog. Select your blog from the dropdown menu under Import your Google Doc file, then click Import to HubSpot draft.

  • Click Yes, go to my draft to begin editing your draft in HubSpot.

The title and content of your Google Doc will be imported into your blog composition in HubSpot.  For instructions on editing blog posts in compose mode, please check out this article

From your HubSpot blog post

  • In Google Chrome, navigate here and click + Add to Chrome to install the HubSpot Collect extension.
  • You'll be prompted to select your HubSpot account. This is where your Google Docs will be imported and content clippings from the web will be saved. 

  • In your HubSpot Marketing account, navigate to Content Blog
  • Click Create new blog post or click Compositions in the left sidebar menu and edit an existing composition.
  • Click Choose a Google Doc

  • If you have not previously given HubSpot permission to access your Google account, you'll be prompted to log in. Enter your Google credentials and on the next page, click Allow to give HubSpot access. 

  • In the Select a file dialog box, click the doc you'd like to import, then click Select.
