Create a goal template

Create and save goal templates that relate to your individual business' goals. Your goal templates will be stored in the My templates section of the template library for you and your team to use.

Create a goal template

• In your HubSpot account, navigate to Reporting & Data > Goals.
• Click Create goal > Create from template.
• In the top right, click Create new template.

• Enter the below information for your goal template:
  • Template name: the name of your template.
  • Object: the object type that your goal will be based on.

• • Property: depending on the object type, select a property.
  • Aggregation type: the aggregation types available will be determined by the property you selected.
    • Average: the average of the value for the property.
    • Min: the lowest value for the property.
    • Max: the highest value for the property.
    • Sum: the added total of all values for the property.
    • Count: the total number of data entries for the property.
  • Unit of measurement: enter a unit of measurement, for example seconds, minutes etc. This will only apply to some properties.
  • Date property: the date property that will be used in the goal template.

• • Tracking method: select your preferred tracking method to measure your goal progress by: 
    • Higher value is better, lower is worse: increase in goal value is better.
    • Lower value is better, higher is worse: decrease in goal value is better.
  • Description: add a description for the goal.
• In the right panel, view a preview of your goal template.
• When you've configured your goal template you can select one of the following:
  • Save template and exit: the template will be saved the in the My Templates section of the template library. Users can return at any point and use the template to create and assign it as a goal.
  • Save and set goal using this template: use the template to create a goal. Create the goal by adding a goal name, selecting contributors and duration, and defining targets. Learn more about creating Sales, Marketing and Service goals.

Manage goal templates

All goal templates will be stored in the My templates section of the goal template library. From here you can create a goal using the template, copy the goal template or delete your goal template.

• In your HubSpot account, navigate to Reporting & Data > Goals.
• Click Create goal > Create from template.

To create a goal from one of your templates:

• Under the My templates section, click Set goal for the template you want to use.
• Enter the goal criteria.

To copy a goal template:

• Under the My templates section, on the goal template box, click Actions > Copy template.
• Enter a Template name, then click Save template and exit or Save and set goal using this template.

To delete a goal template:

• Under the My templates section, on the goal template box, click Actions > Delete template.
• In the dialog box, click Delete.
