Create and monitor goals

With goals, managers can create quotas for their sales users and teams. Managers can also assign goals to a pipeline. Goal milestones can be set monthly, quarterly, or annually.

Please note: you can only create revenue goals with this version of the goals tool. Learn how to use the legacy sales goals tool to create goals with different measures.

Create goals

  • In your HubSpot account, click the settings settings icon in the main navigation bar.
  • In the left sidebar menu, navigate to Tracking & Analytics > Revenue goals.
  • In the top right, click Create goal.

  • In the Name field, enter a goal name.
  • Click the Goal category dropdown menu and select Sales.
  • Click the Goal type dropdown menu and select Revenue.

  • Click Next.
  • You have the option to set multiple pipelines for a single goal. Click to toggle the Enable multi-pipeline goals switch on.

Please note: you can't create forecasts for any goal that has multiple pipelines or any goal that is set to a yearly milestone.

  • Decide if you want to set this goal for a set of individual users or a set of teams, then select Users or Teams. Click the  dropdown menu and select the checkboxes next to the users or teams you want the goal to apply to.

  • To set how frequently you want this goal to be met, click the Milestone dropdown menu and select monthlyquarterly, or yearly
  • Click Next.
  • To assign a pipeline, click the Pipeline dropdown menu and select the pipelines you want to apply the goal to.
  • To set the target amount for each milestone, enter the monthly, quarterly, or yearly amount.
  • To apply the same pipeline or target amount for each milestone, select the checkbox next to the user or team name. At the top of the table, select Apply targets or Apply pipelines:
    • To apply the same target for each milestone, enter the target value in the Amount field, then click Apply.
    • To apply the same pipeline for each milestone, click the Select pipelines dropdown menu and select a pipeline, then click Apply

  • Click Next.
  • To send notifications to users that contribute to the goal, select the checkboxes next to the notifications.

  • Click Done.
Please note: it is not possible to report on team goals.

Manage goals

View your goals by user or team, milestone type, date range, and status. 

Please note: goal progress is updated every 24 hours. 
  • In your HubSpot account, click the settings settings icon in the main navigation bar.
  • In the left sidebar menu, navigate to Tracking & Analytics > Revenue goals.
  • Use the dropdown menus to filter your goals by user or team, milestone type, date range, status, and progress.

  • To view more details about a specific contributor's goals, hover over the contributor and click View details

  • To add a new team member, create a new goal for that team member. 
  • To edit a goal, hover over the contributor and click Edit goal
  • To delete a goal, select the checkbox next to the goal, then click Delete.
