Last updated: August 14, 2025

Available with any of the following subscriptions, except where noted:

You can review your current and historical email sending reputation using the email health dashboard. Review the key metrics of your marketing email performance, including your overall open rate, click-through rate, unsubscribe rate, spam reports, and hard bounce rate, and get recommendations on how to improve your deliverability and performance.

Understand requirements

  • A Marketing Hub Professional or Enterprise subscription is required to filter email health by campaigns.
  • You must have sent 400 emails sent in the last 30 days to have data display on the email health dashboard.

Understand limitations and considerations

  • The email health reports and engagement breakdowns do not include the last 48 hours of data.
  • If you have purchased the transactional email add-on, the email health dashboard will also include the performance of any transactional emails you've sent.
  • Using industry benchmarks is only available for some industries.
  • Spam report data is not available for Gmail. To track Gmail spam reports, use Google's Postmaster Tools

Review your email health score

  1. In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Email.
  2. Click the Health tab.
  3. By default, email health metrics are compared to a general benchmark. To add an industry and use industry-specific benchmarks instead:
    • At the top of the page, click Select your industry in the banner.
    • In the dialog box, click the dropdown menu and select an industry
    • Click Save
    • At the top of the page, select the Industry benchmark: [your industry] option. This option will already be available if you're set an industry in your account defaults.
  4. To filter the data by campaign or email type (such as automated or transactional):
    • In the upper left, click the Filter by dropdown menu and select campaign or email type
    • Click the second dropdown menu and select a campaign or email type
  5. Review the following data about your email health:
    • Your Score: a score from one to ten, based on your email engagement metrics over the past 30 days.
    • Opens: percentage of email opens over the past 30 days. Below the percentage will display a score for this metric, compared to a benchmark.
    • Click-throughs: percentage of emails with clicked links in the past 30 days. Below the percentage will display a score for this metric, compared to a benchmark.
    • Hard Bounces: percentage of your emails that hard bounced in the past 30 days. Below the percentage will display a score for this metric, compared to a benchmark.
    • Unsubscribes: percentage of your emails that resulted in recipients unsubscribing from your emails in the past 30 days. Below the percentage will display a score for this metric, compared to a benchmark.
    • Spam reports: total number of times your emails were reported as spam in the past 30 days.
    • Score over time: your email health score for the past twelve months for any months where you sent over 400 emails. To view individual metrics over time, click the metric name in the Metrics section of the left column.
    • Top recommendations for you: recommended actions you should take next to improve your email performance.
    • High performing emails: up to ten emails you've sent in the past 30 days that scored well in all deliverability metrics.
    • Low performing emails: up to ten emails you've sent in the past 30 days that scored poorly in at least one deliverability metric.
    • High performing contact lists: up to ten recipient lists that have been sent emails in the past 30 days that scored well in all deliverability metrics.
    • Low performing contact lists: up to ten recipient lists that have been sent emails in the past 30 days that poorly in at least one deliverability metric.
