Available with any of the following subscriptions, except where noted:

Partner Account

The Partner Seat is a free Seat that gives eligible HubSpot Solutions Partner and Provider employees access to all features in a client's HubSpot account. Below, learn more about the Partner Seat and how to assign it to users.

Before you begin

  • Partner Seats grant eligible Solutions Partner and Provider employees the eligibility to have access to all features in a client's account. It does not automatically assign the permissions to the users.
  • Users with a Partner Seat can be assigned the Partner admin permission template during permission setup. This template provides all the functionality of the super admin permission template with additional multi-account employee management capabilities.
  • You can only assign multiple users at once to the Partner Seat if all users are eligible Solutions Partner or Provider employees with a partner employee email domain and respective HubSpot Partner account.
  • Partner Seats are eligible for all permissions but can be granted more granular access only by users with Add and edit users and Modify billing permissions.
  • Users must be assigned a Partner Seat to be a Partner admin, but they do not need to be a Partner admin to be assigned a Partner Seat.

Assign the Partner Seat

There are two methods to add a Solutions Partner and Provider employee to a client's account: from the Partner account or directly in the client's account. Learn more about how to assign the Partner Seat via these two methods.

Assign the Partner Seat via the Partner's account

The employee is automatically granted eligibility and access to the Partner Seat when added as a Partner admin in the client account directly via the Client Access Manager.

Assign the Partner Seat in the client's account

To assign a user in the client's account to a Partner Seat:

  • In your HubSpot account, click the settings settings icon in the top navigation bar.
  • In the left sidebar menu, navigate to Users & Teams.
  • Click Create user.
  • Enter the employee's email address into the Add email address(es) field.
  • If the user is also a user in an existing Solutions Partner account and has an approved email partner domain, you can assign the user a Partner Seat from the Seat assignment dropdown menu. If the user does not meet this criteria, you can assign the user a Core Seat or a View-Only Seat
  • In the Choose to narrow access section, select which permission template you want to assign to the user.
  • Click Next.
  • Click Send to create the user. The user will receive am email notification stating that they've been added as a user in the client's account.

Please note: the Partner user must have Add and edit users permissions to add a user in the client account.

Change a user's seat to a Partner Seat

If you mistakenly added a user to a Core or View-Only Seat and you want to change it to a Partner Seat, there are two ways to do so: from the Partner account or directly in the client's account.

Change to the Partner Seat via the Partner's account

The user is automatically granted eligibility and access to a Partner Seat when a Partner admin makes any permission changes on a user in the Partner account. No extra steps are required.

Change to the Partner Seat via the client's account

You must either be a super admin or have Add and edit user and Modify billing permissions to edit a user's seat.

To change a user's seat to a Partner Seat:

  • In your HubSpot account, click the settings settings icon in the top navigation bar.
  • In the left sidebar menu, navigate to Users & Teams.
  • Hover over the user and click Edit permissions
  • In the Seat assignment dropdown menu, select Partner Seat
  • In the Choose to narrow access section, select which permission template you want to assign to the user.
  • Click Save
