If a contact has been disqualified, you may want to reset their value for an engagement lead score. Use a workflow to automatically reset an engagement score (or engagement portion of a combined score) to zero based on certain triggers.
Once the workflow is turned on, the engagement score is reset when contacts are enrolled. If you've selected a combined score, only the engagement portion is reset. When a score is reset, scoring resumes based on events after the most recent reset time. Events before the most recent reset timestamp are ignored.
Permissions required Workflows permissions are required to create workflows.
- In your HubSpot account, click More, then navigate to Automation > Workflows. If More doesn't appear in your account, navigate to Automation > Workflows directly.
- Create a contact-based workflow.
- Click Set up triggers, then select the enrollment triggers that'll decide when a contact's engagement score is reset. For example, any contact with an internal email address or with an associated deal moved to a closed lost stage.
- Click the + plus icon to add an action.
- In the left panel, click CRM, then select Reset marketing lead engagement score.
- Select the score you want to reset, then click Save.

- Finish creating your workflow and turn it on.
Please note: the following behavior applies when resetting an engagement score:
- The reset action only works if a score is turned on. If the score is turned off, contact engagement scores will not be reset.
- Points granted to a score based on segment membership criteria are not included in a reset.
