In HubSpot, you can use the Lifecycle Stage and Lead Status properties to identify where your contacts and companies are in your marketing/sales funnel and buying cycle respectively.

What is Lifecycle Stage?

Lifecycle Stage is a default contact and company property that indicates where a contact or company is in your marketing/sales funnel. The Lifecycle Stage property gets updated when certain actions occur in the HubSpot CRM (more information here). Because of this, the stages cannot be customized. You can also sync Lifecycle Stage between associated contacts and companies using the HubSpot CRM.

The Lifecycle Stage values are:

  • Subscriber
  • Lead
  • Marketing Qualified Lead
  • Sales Qualified Lead
  • Opportunity
  • Customer
  • Evangelist
  • Other

What is Lead Status?

Lead Status is a default contact and company property that indicates where a contact or company is within a buying cycle as a lead. This property allows you to be more specific about a contact or company's qualification as a lead. You can customize the Lead Status property with values specific to your sales process. Read more about editing properties here.

The default Lead Status values are:

  • New
  • Open
  • In Progress
  • Open Deal
  • Unqualified
  • Attempted to Contact
  • Connected
  • Bad Timing
