Regular marketing emails, as well as emails sent via a workflow, may be stopped automatically by HubSpot's email protection system. The system will stop emails if the email starts to accumulate a high percentage of hard bounces, spam reports, or unsubscribes from your recipients. These events can hurt your email sending reputation and cause your emails to go straight to spam. Learn more about improving the deliverability of your emails.
Resend your stopped email manually
To protect your sending reputation, complete the following steps before trying to resend your email:
- Confirm that your list is OK to email with HubSpot.
- Make sure that you have imported all of your opt-out lists from other email systems into HubSpot.
- Remove any contacts from this list who haven't heard from you in over six months.
- Create an active list using the criteria Contact property | Last email send date | is more than 26 weeks ago and exclude the list from each of your email sends.

Manually sent emails
When you receive the notification from HubSpot about your stopped email, click Send to remaining engaged contacts to send a clone of your original email to any remaining recipients who have received, opened, or clicked one of your emails, or opted in through a form submission.
Clicking the Send to remaining engaged contacts button will bring you directly into the email editor of a clone of your original email that was stopped. This email clone will contain a new exclusion list in the recipients section to ensure that any unengaged contacts are dropped automatically when you re-send the message.
Please note: if no contacts match the engagement criteria outlined above, the Send to remaining engaged contacts button won't be displayed in the email notification from HubSpot.
Emails sent via a workflow
When you receive the notification from HubSpot about your stopped workflow email, click View email performance in the email to navigate directly to the email that was stopped. From the post send page, you can review additional details on why the email was stopped.
You will need to review any associated contacts and clean up any that did not provide consent for you to email them, along with any contacts who have become stale.
