When setting up a For a set amount of time delay, you can select the option to use business days only. This will exclude weekends from the delay, and will prevent enrolled records from exiting the delay on a weekend.
For example, if your delay is set to two days and an enrolled contact enters the delay on Friday, they will exit the delay on Tuesday, instead of Sunday. Learn more about using delays in workflows.
- In your HubSpot account, navigate to Automation > Workflows.
- In the upper right, click Create workflow > From scratch.
- Click the name of an existing workflow or create a new workflow.
- Set your enrollment triggers.
- In the workflow editor, click the + plus icon.
- In the left panel, click Delay.

- Click the Delay dropdown menu and select For a set amount of time.
- Select the Business days only (Monday - Friday) checkbox.
- Set how long the delay will last by using the Day field.
- It is not possible to configure Hours or Minutes when using Business days only. By default, the enrolled record will exit the delay at the same time that it entered.
- For example, if your delay is set to two days and a contact enters the delay on Monday at 8:50 PM EST, they will exit the delay on Wednesday at 8:50 PM EST.
- At the top, click Save.
- Continue setting up your workflow.
