Excel does not always properly save special characters when a .csv file type is in use. You can import the exported list into Google Docs to resolve this.
- Log in to Google Docs
- Click Create > select Spreadsheet.
- In the new Spreadsheet, navigate to File > Import
- Click Upload > select the exported file from your computer
- Choose create new spreadsheet under Import action > click the blue Import button > open the file once the import has finished processing
The Google spreadsheet should correctly display all special characters. You can now choose to download the file again if you prefer to work with it in Excel instead of Google Docs. To do this, navigate to File > Download As > choose the desired file type.
